Curriculum

OCS highly qualified teachers utilize the Ohio Content Standards and Ohio Content Standards - Extended to generate their lesson plans and activities.  These standards align with the common core curriculum.  Students are challenged to reach their full potential in each subject area, with the highest focus on the core subjects of; English, Math, Science and Social Studies. Students are assessed through the appropriate Ohio standardized assessment each year according to the regulations for his/her grade level and the student's IEP.  OCS is a public community school which ensures students meet the appropriate graduation requirements to receive a diploma for graduation. In addition, OCS supports the IEP student's state right to an education until his/her 22nd birthday.  Students who take advantage of this opportunity are working on goals which correlate to his/her Transition Plan on the IEP.
